Watching the Wrestler

- can´t but admire Aronofsky´s vision, poetry and subtlety.

- the use of images - in the start. rourke in the car. he´s dozing off. dozing off. dozing off. click he´s not dozing off. done with a cut, not as one image. usage for other media? yes of course.

- there´s NOTHING that does not need to be here.

- when Aronofsky´s doing the subject, the research he went into is imminent - little beautiful details, like the injuries of the old wrestlers when on the signing, make it all so understandable. so does the fact that he treats the main protagonist, as well as any other, with empathy - rourke is playing a man who isn´t really very culturally smart, yet he´s trying his best to be a good man. aronofsky does not cover anything - he shows every stain, even minor ´flaws´ like Ram´s solarium attendance or not knowing call of duty 4, all of whom make him more human. he´s a flawed human being, trying to understand and do well. empathy.

- use of light : another thing I have to focus more in comics, the same goes with talking about the places, the atmosphere needs to be there, the feeling, all of it, yet things left to be played with.

- he beautifully uses shortcut - when he goes to show the stripper character, we don´t need more than watching her get turned off three times to understand how she´s feeling, nothing more, one minute of a movie and it´s done gracefully

- what emerges from this, among other things, is the fact that I might someday get back to the short story that I wrote and rewrite it as a short novel.
